The future of technology will change our experiences from physical to digital. It inspires the three main factors of my own design, personalisation, productivity and collaboration.[4]
Chat bots, a computer program designed to simulate conversation with humans over the internet, are predicted to become even more wide spread. Filtering information to make it more personal to the user will create a more efficient work space.
Smart Fabrics build an environment without limitations. They allow room for creativity, and evoke productivity due to everything being in one space.
Online video is now accounting for over two-thirds of all internet traffic. Live videois becoming increasing popular, providing a platform for designers to communicate and therefore encourages collaborations.
Social Media allows us to consume and share content. Today it has been largely modelled by image based platforms such as Instagram, Snapchat and Pinterest, giving us the opportunity to share and find work, often becoming the source of our inspirations.
VR is currently in the investigation stage on how it can benefit and be relevant to peoples everyday lives. By creating a 360 degree environment, it is all ready being used to allow customers to walk through a designed space that hasn’t even been built yet. This platform is predicted to have the most significant technological impact, with users expected to grow to 200 million by 2020, I therefore intend to consider it within my own design.
Evolving from VR, FOVE HMD tracks eye movement. This technology will create a more emotional impact by being able to almost literally step into someone else’s shoes. In the design world, this means designers will have an even better understanding of the client, resulting in more personal and appropriate designs.
